GPT-4 is an advanced version of ChatGPT 3.5. It is a large multimodal model that accepts images and text inputs and generate text outputs. It means, a user can upload an image or ask questions through text based inputs and GPT 4 will generate text based responses. It is not as capable as humans in many real world scenarios but showed a high performance when it was tested out on various tough exams.

For example, GPT-4 was among the top 10% of the test takers on various simulated exams like olympiads, AP free response questions, etc., whereas when GPT 3.5 took the same tests, its scores was around bottom 10% of the test takers. This was done just to check how advanced GPT-4 is in comparison to ChatGPT.
